An open house weekend: seeing five homes in one afternoon

Open houses are the quickest way to learn a neighbourhood. A little planning turns a long Saturday into a short list.

Open houses are the quickest way to learn a neighbourhood. A little planning turns a long Saturday into a short list.

Pick one area and at most five homes, and put them in driving order. Give each one twenty minutes: long enough to open the closets, short enough to keep going.

Take one photo of the outside and one of the kitchen in every house. By the fourth home they start to blur together, and the photos keep them apart.

Write down one thing you loved and one thing you would change. That list, not the listing photos, is what we use when we talk about an offer.

My open house days show on my calendar. Book a slot and I will walk you through the ones I host.
